Camp Whitesand High Ropes Challenge Course
People learn and develop most effectively by actively doing or experiencing in a milieu that is
motivating, challenging and exciting. Risk is normal in the daily lives of all human beings and
is essential to their learning and development. Adventure programs enable individuals and groups
to challenge themselves and take risks that are intellectual, emotional, physical, social or
spiritual in nature. Self-directed challenges and risks become opportunities for learning and
personal growth. Learning and growth is integrated and holistic.
Challenge course programs are one of the most effective means of developing and enhancing individual
and group self-esteem; trust; risk taking; social competence including communication and problem
solving skills; mutual support; teamwork; and leadership skills.
The ropes course at Camp Whitesand is a multi-level course providing 4 self-directed challenge
opportunities at the low level, 8 self-directed high ropes challenges opportunities, as well as
a 35 meter zip line experience.
All participants in experiential education activities are expected to follow the safety guidelines
of the Camp Whitesand Ropes Course. Camp Whitesand course operators have all been trained and
certified by Canada’s Premier Experiential Adventure Learning and Development Consulting Company,
Challenges Unlimited. www.challengesunlimited.com
